Complete A2P 10DLC Phone Registration

Register your business with US carriers so SMS messages from Joby actually get delivered to customers. Joby AI pre-fills the carrier-compliant copy for you.

A2P 10DLC registration is required before Joby can send SMS to US customers. Without it, your messages get filtered by carriers and never reach the customer's phone. The registration is a one-time setup — you tell the carriers who your business is and what kind of texts you'll send, and once approved (typically 1–7 business days), SMS works.

The good news: Joby AI auto-generates almost everything you need — the campaign description, opt-in page text, privacy policy, terms, and sample messages. Your job is mostly to fill in the business identity fields accurately. Highly recommended: don't edit the AI-generated copy unless you have a specific compliance reason — it's tuned for the highest carrier approval rate.

1. Open Phone Registration

You'll find Phone Registration under Settings. The amber dot next to it means "action needed" — meaning you haven't registered yet, and SMS is blocked until you do.

1

2. Enter your legal business name

Type your business name exactly as it's registered with the IRS. Even small mismatches (missing "Inc.", "LLC", typos, abbreviations) cause rejection. This is the #1 reason registrations come back denied.

2

3. Open the Business Type dropdown

Options include LLC, Corporation, Sole Proprietorship, Non-profit, and others. Pick what's on your IRS paperwork.

3

4. Pick the matching business type

Match this to your IRS registration exactly. Wrong type triggers automatic rejection. If you're unsure, check your IRS EIN confirmation letter.

4

5. Enter your EIN / Tax ID

Type your Employer Identification Number in XX-XXXXXXX format. This must match the number the IRS issued you. Sole proprietors without an EIN can use their SSN.

5

6. Fill in your business address

Use the address you have on file with your state's business registry. Important: PO boxes are rejected by carriers — use a physical address, even if it's your home office.

6

7. Add an Authorized Representative

This is the contact person carriers can reach during the review. Pick the business owner, CEO, or compliance officer — someone who can answer questions if the carrier needs clarification.

7

8. Click Next to continue

Once the business profile is complete, click Next to move on to the campaign details — which is where the AI does its work.

8

9. Let Joby AI generate the campaign copy

This is the most important step. Joby AI auto-generates everything carriers want to see: campaign description, public opt-in page, privacy policy, terms, opt-in language, sample messages, and STOP/HELP handling. The output is tuned for the highest approval rate based on your business profile.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: don't change anything. Every edit you make risks rejection. Scroll through to verify nothing looks wildly wrong, but trust the AI to know what carriers want.

9

10. Only edit if you have a real reason

If you need to regenerate the AI output (rare), use the Regenerate with AI button at the top. If you must hand-edit a field (very rare), keep the language formal, mention the opt-in flow explicitly, and include STOP language in any sample message. Otherwise, leave it alone.

10

11. Click Next once the AI copy looks right

Scroll the page once to glance over the AI-generated description, opt-in text, and sample messages, then hit Next. The full review screen is coming.

11

12. Review and Submit

Final check — verify the Brand Details and Campaign Details on the review screen match your business. Hit Submit.

Carrier approval typically takes 1–7 business days. You'll get an in-app notification (and email) the moment it's approved — at which point SMS from Joby starts delivering to all your customers.
