Joby + Zapier

Joby now integrates with Zapier, so you can automatically connect your leads, clients, invoices, and payments to the 6,000+ apps you already use — without writing a line of code.

What it is

The Joby + Zapier integration turns activity in your Joby workspace into automated "Zaps." When something happens in Joby — a new lead comes in, an invoice gets paid, a lead status changes — Zapier can take the next step for you in Slack, Gmail, Google Sheets, Calendars, marketing tools, and thousands of other apps.

It works in both directions: Joby sends data out to other apps (triggers), and other apps can push data into Joby (actions).

Set it up

The full setup is three short segments: get a connection key from Joby, paste it into Zapier, then pick your first trigger.

Part 1 — In Joby

1. Open Settings → Integrations

Joby keeps every external connection (email, Stripe, OpenAI, webhooks, and Zapier) under Settings → Integrations.

1

2. Set up the Zapier integration

Find the Zapier row and click Set up. The Zapier connection panel opens.

2

3. Click Connect Zapier

This generates a private connection key tied to your workspace. The key authorizes Zapier to read and write data on behalf of your account.

3

4. Copy your connection key

Click Copy to grab the key. You'll paste it into Zapier in the next part. Don't worry about saving it elsewhere — you can always come back and copy it again.

4

5. Open Zapier

Click Open Zapier to jump straight to the Zap editor in a new tab. If you don't have a Zapier account yet, you can sign up for free at this step.

5

Part 2 — In Zapier

6. Add a Trigger step

In the Zap editor, click the empty Trigger node. This is the event that starts your Zap.

6

7. Search for Joby

Type Joby into Zapier's app picker to filter the catalog of 9,000+ apps.

7

8. Pick Joby (1.0.0)

Select Joby (1.0.0) from the list. This is the official Joby Zapier app.

8

9. Select an account

Zapier needs to know which Joby workspace to connect to. Click Select next to the account dropdown.

9

10. Connect a new account

If this is your first time, click + Connect a new account — this is where you paste the key you copied from Joby.

10

11. Paste your connection key

Paste the key you copied in Part 1, step 4. The field hides the key like a password — that's expected.

11

12. Confirm the connection

Click Yes, Continue to Joby (1.0.0). Zapier verifies the key with Joby and locks in the connection. From now on, this account is reusable across all your Joby Zaps.

12

Part 3 — Pick your event

13. Choose an event

Open the event dropdown in your Trigger step.

13

14. Pick any event from the list

You can pick any of the Joby triggers listed below: New Lead, Lead Status Changed, New Appointment, New Invoice, Invoice Paid, and more. Once you pick one, add an Action (Slack message, Google Sheets row, email, anything Zapier offers) and your first Zap is live.

14

Triggers — Joby → other apps

Every event below can start a Zap. Use them to react to anything that happens in Joby:

Trigger

When it fires

New Lead

A new lead is added in Joby.

New Client

A new client record is created.

New Appointment

A new appointment is scheduled.

New Task

A new task is created.

New Invoice

A new invoice is generated.

Invoice Paid

An invoice is marked paid.

New Payment

A payment is received.

Lead Status Changed

A lead's status changes — with an optional filter for a specific status pulled from your own lead statuses.

Actions — other apps → Joby

Other apps can push data into Joby:

Action

What it does

Create Lead

Adds a new lead in Joby with the fields you map.

Create Client

Adds a new client record in Joby.

Automations to try

A few real-world Zaps that take minutes to build:

When this happens in Joby…

…Zapier does this for you

New Lead

Send an instant Slack or SMS alert to the owner, and log a row in Google Sheets.

Lead Status changes to “Won”

Auto-send a Google review request to the customer.

Invoice Paid

Notify the team in Slack, log to your accounting sheet, and email a thank-you to the customer.

New Payment

Push the amount and date to your finance spreadsheet.

New Appointment

Add it to a Google Calendar (yours or a shared team one).

Form on Facebook, Google, or your website

Use “Create Lead” to automatically push it into Joby with the source tagged.

Why it matters

  • No code, no developer — set up in minutes from a web UI.

  • Connects Joby to 6,000+ apps in Zapier's catalog.

  • Each business controls its own connection. Your connection key is private to your workspace and permission-scoped — data never crosses organizations.

Security

Note

Treat your connection key like a password. Don't paste it into chat, screenshots, or support tickets. If it's ever exposed, regenerate it from the same settings page and re-paste the new key in Zapier.

Tip

Start with one of the example Zaps above instead of building from a blank slate. New Lead → Slack alert is the most popular, and it takes about three minutes end-to-end.
