Buy and Manage Phone Numbers

Purchase local or toll-free numbers in Joby and configure how each one is used.

Written by Sophia Martinez

Joby lets you purchase local or toll-free numbers through Twilio without leaving the app. Once you own a number, you can route it through a call flow, attach it to a call group, use it for masking, or add it to the dialer dropdown.

1. Open Phone Numbers

You'll find Phone Numbers under Settings. The page lists every number connected to your account along with its assignment (call group, masking, dialer, etc).

2. Click Buy Numbers

The Buy Numbers button (top right) opens a search dialog. Joby supports both Local numbers (by area code) and Toll-free. Pick a tab.

2

3. Filter by Area Code

For local numbers, type the area code (e.g., 305, 718, 415) and hit search. Joby fetches every available number in that area code through Twilio so you can pick one with a memorable suffix.

4. Give the new number a friendly name

After purchasing, give the number a friendly name like "Main Number", "Google Ads", or "After-hours". The name shows up everywhere the number is referenced — call flow assignments, ad sources, masking, dialer dropdowns.

5. Review the number list

Back on the main Phone Numbers page, you can see all your numbers with status, friendly name, and what they're assigned to. Use this view to verify your routing setup at a glance.
