SMS Configuration controls which of your phone numbers sends each text to a customer. Joby picks the right number based on the customer's service type history, falling back to your default if no match is found.
1. Open SMS Configuration
You'll find it at Settings → SMS Configuration. This page controls which phone number sends SMS to customers based on context — the customer's service type history, or a default fallback.
2. Pick a Default From Number
The Default From Number is used when no service-type match exists — for example, a brand new contact or someone without any leads in the system. Pick the number you want as your general SMS sender.
3. Save the default
Hit Save. The default is now live for all SMS sends that don't match a more specific rule.
4. Configure Service Type SMS Numbers
Below the default, the Service Type SMS Numbers card lets you map a sender number per service type. When a customer has an open lead with a specific service type (HVAC, plumbing, locksmith), Joby uses the matching number instead of the default.
5. Open the dropdown for a service type
Click into the dropdown next to any service type and pick which number to send from for that category. Useful when you want service-specific branding or want to route SMS replies to a specific team.
