Configure Phone Masking

Hide your team's real numbers from customers by routing outbound through a masking number and per-service-type display numbers on inbound.

Phone Masking hides your team's real numbers from customers. Outbound calls route through a single masking number, and inbound calls can show a different display number per service type so customers see a clean, on-brand caller ID. Set both in Settings → Phone Masking.

1. Open Phone Masking

You'll find Phone Masking under Settings. The page is split into two sections: a single Masking Number for outbound calls, and per-service-type display numbers customers see on inbound.

2. Select the Masking Number

Pick a phone number from your account to act as the masking number. Outbound calls from your team get routed through this number instead of showing their personal numbers.

3. Click Save

Once the number is picked, hit Save. Changes apply immediately to the next outbound call.

4. Scroll to Service Type Display Numbers

Below the masking number section, the Service Type Display Numbers card lets you assign a different display number per service type. Customers calling a job will see the number matched to that service type.

5. Enter a number for a service type

Type the phone number in +1XXXXXXXXXX format next to each service type. The number must be one of the phone numbers you've purchased or connected to Joby.

6. Use a different masking number per service type

Different service types can show different masking numbers, so HVAC calls can show one number and plumbing calls another. This is useful for tracking which line gets the most inbound and for branding by service.
