Joby Pay is what powers the Pay Now button on every invoice and estimate. Under the hood, it's Stripe Connect — Stripe handles cards, ACH, and payouts to your bank account, while Joby handles the customer-facing portal, invoice tracking, and reconciliation.
Activation is a one-time setup: 5–10 minutes of Stripe's onboarding form, then you're done. Until you activate, the Pay Now buttons on your invoices don't work — customers can see invoices but have no way to pay you online.
1. Open Payments
Payments in the left sidebar is the hub for everything money-related — setup, transaction history, payouts to your bank, and refunds.
2. Click Get Started
This launches the Stripe Connect onboarding flow. Stripe is the underlying payment processor that handles every card and ACH transaction. You'll create (or sign in to) a Stripe account that's connected to Joby — so customer payments land in your bank, not Joby's.
3. Enter your email
This becomes your Stripe account login. Use an email you actually monitor — Stripe sends important account notices here (verification requests, payout schedules, disputes, etc.).
4. Enter your business phone number
Stripe sends a verification code by SMS to confirm you own the number before continuing. Use a mobile that can receive texts.
5. Submit and complete the rest of Stripe's form
After the basics, Stripe's onboarding form covers: business details, EIN or SSN, bank account for payouts, and identity verification (usually a photo of your ID).
Once you submit, Stripe reviews and typically activates within minutes. After approval:
• Pay Now buttons go live on every invoice and estimate portal
• Customers can pay by credit card (and ACH if you enable it in Stripe)
• Payouts arrive in your bank account on Stripe's standard 2-day rolling schedule (or daily if you upgrade in Stripe)
• Joby auto-marks invoices as Paid the moment payment clears
